Silk’n Sensepil Reviews

Why I Chose Silk'n Sensepil

There's no way I would ever have bought the Sensepil without checking out a lot of Silk'n Sensepil Reviews first. I'm a high maintenance chick and safe, easy, painless and permanent hair removal is a high priority for me. I don't mind spending money to achieve results, but I want to know that I'm getting the best bang for my buck. Considering that I've already spent a fortune on professional laser hair removal treatments in the past, if a home laser hair removal system can achieve the same permanent results at a fraction of the price, then move over girls because I'm heading straight for the top of the queue.

There were several things that swung it for me. Silk'n Sensepil is only one of two home laser hair removal devices which has FDA clearance (the other is the TRIA). The Silk'n also won the Best of 2011 Award for Best Laser/ IPL Hair Remover, and has received extensive positive media coverage. And seeing as it comes with a 30 day guarantee, I had nothing to lose anyway. The final incentive I needed to hit the buy button was the fact that the majority of the Silk'n Sensepil Reviews that I had read all raved about it, especially as it can be used on the face whereas the TRIA cannot. The only dissenters seemed to be people with the wrong skin/hair color combination to use the Silk'n. To me that's not a valid criticism of the product, it's just an excuse for a moan, especially as if that does happen, it's fully covered by the money back guarantee.

Using Silk'n Sensepil is Easy Peasy

As a confirmed gadget-phobe, I was slightly nervous about using the Silk'n Sensepil. If something can go wrong with an electronic device, then for me it usually does. Luckily, the system is really user friendly and for once, I needn't have worried. After only one use I had mastered the technique without any problems whatsoever.

There's a base unit and a small hand held applicator with a pulse button. A disposable lamp cartridge fits into the handset. Starting with clean, shaven skin, the treatment works by placing the applicator tip of the handheld unit against the skin area being worked on, and pressing the pulse button to transmit the light pulses which are emitted from the lamp.

The best technique is to apply the light treatment in successive rows. I learned at the start that rolling the device over the skin in all directions gives patchy results – a methodical linear approach is far more effective. The idea is to start at the lowest energy setting for the first treatment, increasing the light pulse power at subsequent sessions. I moved the heat up fairly quickly for improved results. The light from the lamp is quite bright, but not so much that it caused me any problems.

The Silk'n is Safe and Practically Pain Free

I'm an advocate of the "no pain, no gain approach" only when necessary, although in my experience, hair removal can be one of those times. For certain sensitive areas, especially my underarms and bikini line, I'm a born again coward. As the alternative would be much worse, usual
ly I just try to grin and bear it. However, it's not an exaggeration to say that salon treatments have occasionally brought tears to my eye.

So imagine my joy when I discovered that the Silk'n is probably the least painful hair removal experience that I have ever had in my not so short little hairy life. The fact that the Silk'n feels like nothing more than a little ping on my skin is a very significant advantage for me. There are 5 intensity levels and even at the top setting I have not experienced any discomfort at all.

The safety standards of the device are high to the point that it would be difficult to cause any harm to the user. There is a built in safety skin color sensor which prevents the device from being used on unsuitable skin tones. As the Silk'n is not suitable for skin that is too dark or tanned, the sensor eliminates any guesswork as to whether the device is safe to use or not.

Speedy Silk'n Sensepil Treatment Times

The Silk'n fairly flies through a treatment session at quite an impressive speed. Because the light has quite a wide coverage, it only takes me around 20 minutes to do both full legs. Both underarms can be finished in 5-10 minutes and the same for the bikini line. I've also used the Sensepil on my boyfriend's back which took about 45 minutes. I love the fact that a treatment can be done quickly and it's not a major performance.

What Treatment Cycles are Required for Permanent Hair Removal?

Everyone's hair grows in cycles, so it's necessary to repeat the treatment several times to achieve permanent hair removal results. It is recommended to schedule treatments every fortnight for the first 3 or 4 sessions. After that there should be significant enough hair loss that treatment will only be required monthly thereafter (or less) for several more months. Permanent hair removal should be achieved in most cases within 12 months.

I'm delighted to say that that in my experience the results have been amazing after only 3 sessions to date. I have zapped my legs, bikini line and underarms and the regrowth at this point is negligible. I'm hoping that only one or two more sessions are needed to finally achieve life long permanent hair removal status.

Silk'n Sensepil won't Break the Bank

Considering that the price of the Sensepil is currently $349 while the cost of a series of salon laser hair removal treatments could easily run into thousands, I'm sure that the Silk'n is keeping my bank manager happy. With a cost effective permanent home hair removal system like this available, I honestly can't see how salons can continue to hold their market share. Once the word gets out I am sure that salons will lose a lot of trade.

Silk'n Sensepil in a Nutshell

The Silk'n has got to be one of my best buys in a very long time. Call me vain, I don't care, but it's not very often that I buy something that is so good at what it does that it actually improves the quality of my life. Thanks to a little gadget that is painless, safe and easy to use, not only have I almost reached my permanent hair free nirvana, I've saved myself a fortune as well. I'm not the only one who thinks so – countless other Silk'n Sensepil Reviews agree.

So I don’t understand I have to shave first? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose…?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

Yeah, you have to shave first, but if you consider that the results ultimately last forever and you’ll NEVER have to shave again, it’s totally worth it :)

hey i’m a girl in high school and it worked really well for me so to other young people wondering if its good and works for us yeah it does :)

do you think this is easier than the tria or harder?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

They’re pretty similar, but the SensEpil has a light that’s 6x the size of the Tria’s laser, so it takes a lot less time. On the other hand, some users prefer the Tria because it’s smaller and a little easier to reach hard spots. It’s really a matter of personal preference.

Hi, I’m a guy with a pretty hairy and embarrassing back. Can the SensEpil help?

  5.
I want to give my results – Took about 8 treatments to finish my legs, each time less hair came back until nothing was left! Going to try to use it on my arms and underarms next I’m sure it will work fine!

hey i saw a pretty good deal for this on ebay should i get it or you really think i need to use the official site?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

Some people HAVE gotten good deals on the Silk’n SensEpil on eBay, but other people have gotten fake or broken products. And they’re never covered by the guarantee. I’d say it’s a gamble buying anywhere but the official site.

OMG I wish I had known about this sooo much sooner! I was practically killing myself waxing all the time, I did the home wax you heat in the microwave…. this is soooo much better in basically every way!

  8.
I used the No No before and I was kind of mad it doesn’t last forever like they say is this the same BS?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

Well, the No No doesn’t market itself as being truly permanent, so you were misled at some point. However, the Silk’n SensEpil uses different technology, and DOES last forever once you’ve completed the treatments.

  9.
how does it compare to waxing? thats what i do now.

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

Well, it hurts A LOT less, like not at all versus the excruciating pain of having your hair ripped out, and ultimately the results last forever. I’d say it’s only about a million times better than waxing :-D

The Silk’n SensEpil is perfect for me and probably just perfect in general. I love it!

  11.
It took some convincing to get me to try this, so I wanted to say thanks for posting this – it got me to try it and I’ll never look back just like my hair will never grow back :D

  12.
I was having a little trouble with the skin-sensor going off even though I have pretty light skin…. figured out I was doing it in a room with bad lighting that caused a shadow so if you’re having similar problems try doing it in a different room!

  13.
Are there any side effects to use it?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

Well, I suffered from improved confidence, self-esteem and body image. If you mean negative side effects, than no :)

  14.
    Is it natural?

    • avatar Sandra Ellet says:

It really depends on what you mean. It doesn’t use any kind of chemicals or anything, just light, which you could say is pretty natural. On the other hand, a hair-destroying lamp is a miracle of modern technology, which I guess one could argue is a little unnatural.
