The lasers used in laser hair removal treatment all produce a pure vivid red light (not believed to be cancer forming). It doesn’t penetrate far into the skin, just a few millimetres so it’s not like X-rays or radiotherapy.
Laser hair removal safety should be considered tho, as it’s dangerous to the eyesight if unshielded. Protective goggles must be worn during your treatment with the amount of people in the treatment room also kept to a minimum to further reduce any risk.
During your laser hair removal treatment your skin will tingle – a bit like being lightly flicked with an elastic band – and the surrounding area will be cooled with a gel or other preparation. This sensation is perfectly normal, so don’t be alarmed.
